Omotayo Omojugba, a well-known fish seller from Igbokoda, Ondo State, has been arrested over allegations of homosexual practices. He is accused of luring young men with money and gifts to engage in sexual acts with him.
According to reports, two accomplices, Alex Akinfoyewa and Anikanda Adebowale, who allegedly recorded Omojugba’s encounters with other men, are currently on the run.
Omojugba was apprehended after attempting to blackmail one of his partners by threatening to release a video of their sexual encounter. The arrest came after the victim reported the incident.
Funmilayo Odunlami, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the arrest of Omotayo Omojugba, stating that an investigation is ongoing.
In the wake of the incident, the Publicity Secretary of the Ilaje Youth Progressive Intellectuals, Saanusi E.T, condemned the alleged homosexual practices, emphasizing the importance of preserving the community’s cultural values. He stated:
“As the leadership of Ilaje Youth Progressive Intellectuals, we remain committed to promoting peace, unity, and the well-being of our community. We will continue to advocate for a society where our cultural norms are respected and upheld by all, regardless of one’s status or influence.”
