Bauchi police arrest 50-year-old businessman, Nuru Isa, for allegedly beating his wife, Wasila Abdullahi, to death after an argument over food preparation for breaking Ramadan fast.
The dispute escalated into violence at their home in Fadaman Mada, Bauchi metropolis. According to police spokesperson CSP Ahmed Wakil, preliminary investigations confirm Isa used a cane to strike his wife, causing her to collapse. She was later pronounced dead at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.
The deceased has been placed in the mortuary pending an autopsy, while the police have recovered the cane as evidence and launched a thorough investigation.
