The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has shattered its revenue target, collecting ₦7.28 trillion in 2025, surpassing the ₦6.5 trillion goal by over 10% and up 19% from 2024’s ₦6.1 trillion.
Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi credited stricter enforcement, digital reforms, and improved trade facilitation for the record haul. The agency also launched initiatives like the Time Release Study to speed up border processes.
While this is a historic achievement, some Nigerians online are questioning whether the funds will impact daily life amid economic challenges.
