Vitinha has described Pedri as the best midfielder in the world, while also reaffirming his commitment to Paris Saint-Germain amid speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
Speaking about his own standing, the 26-year-old said he prefers not to label himself the best midfielder, describing such claims as arrogant, though he believes he is “among the best.”
When asked to rank his favourite midfielders, Vitinha placed Pedri at the top, praising his creativity and technical brilliance.
“Pedri is magical; it’s spectacular to watch him play. When you play against him, you understand it even better,” he said.
He added that João Neves and Bruno Fernandes also deserve recognition, joking that he does not have a top three, but rather a top four including himself.
Addressing rumours about a possible move to Real Madrid, Vitinha dismissed the speculation, saying it would be “stupid” to leave PSG, where he feels happy and settled within a strong squad under coach Luis Enrique.
Vitinha’s comments have drawn attention across the football world, particularly given Pedri’s impressive form this season following injury setbacks, with many fans viewing the praise as recognition of Barcelona’s resurgence in midfield quality.
