Nigerian doctor and medical influencer, Chinonso Egemba, popularly known as Aproko Doctor, has responded to a man who claimed that sleep is a recipe for poverty.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Aproko Doctor urged Nigerians to prioritize their sleep and ensure they get enough rest for their well-being.
A tweep, Morris Monye, expressed his disdain for people still asleep by 7 or 8am, tweeting: “Hate when I message people by 6am or 7am and they are still sleeping. Too much sleep is a recipe for poverty.”
In response, Aproko Doctor, Chinonso Egemba, advised against the notion that sleep leads to poverty. He emphasized the importance of proper rest for health, noting that insufficient sleep can lead to long-term medical issues.
“Abeg sleep o! Little sleep is a recipe for dementia in old age. People are suffering because of little sleep,” he wrote, urging Nigerians to prioritize their health by ensuring they get adequate rest.
