Ayo Labinjoh Speaks Out Amid Paternity and DNA Test Controversy Involving Nigerian Music Star Davido

Ayo Labinjoh has publicly addressed ongoing allegations and online discussions surrounding her daughter, Anu, and Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido. In a detailed statement, Labinjoh denied claims labeling her as Davido’s “baby mama” or using derogatory terms against her, stressing that her primary concern is protecting her daughter’s mental health after years of alleged bullying.

According to Labinjoh, she has been largely ignored by Davido for years due to what she described as a misconception about her background. She clarified that she was a waitress at the time they met, not a sex worker, and strongly rejected narratives she says have fueled harassment against her and her child.

Labinjoh stated that her daughter began trending on social media platform X after Davido allegedly referred to her using offensive language, despite claiming they had never met. She also questioned why multiple DNA tests were reportedly conducted if there was certainty about non-paternity.

She further alleged that in 2014, Davido’s father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, took her and her daughter to a laboratory—not a hospital—where Anu’s blood sample was collected. Labinjoh claimed the sample was later discarded without her knowledge and that a falsified DNA result was produced. She named a laboratory technician, Wale Sobola, who she alleged posed as “Dr. Alex,” and identified him as a relative of a Nollywood actress.

Labinjoh emphasized that her daughter is fighting for her identity, not public sympathy or financial support. She rejected suggestions that Davido should “adopt” Anu, stating that her daughter is not an orphan and is not seeking charity.

In a further claim, Labinjoh alleged that Davido recently contacted her daughter directly, issuing threats and using abusive language. She noted that Davido is a United States citizen and stated her intention to formally request the involvement of the U.S. State Department to coordinate with diplomatic missions in Lagos or Abuja. According to her, this would ensure supervision and transparency during an independent DNA test.

Concluding her statement, Labinjoh stressed that her daughter did not choose the circumstances of her birth and appealed for accountability, dignity, and fairness, stating her belief that justice will ultimately prevail.
