Bandits attacked Kankara General Hospital in Katsina State on Tuesday night, January 14, 2025, shooting Dr. Murtala Sale Dandashire and abducting five others.
Dr. Dandashire, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University and the best medical student of his class in 2019, was shot before the bandits took the victims to an unknown location.
Crisis journalist Bakatsine, who confirmed the incident, called for improved security at hospitals across Katsina State. This marks the third hospital attack in the region in the past three months, following similar incidents at Kurfi General Hospital and Mai Tsani Hospital in Dutsin-ma LGA.
