Barcelona faces €60M challenge to register Dani Olmo, risking losing the player amid salary cap crisis – report

Barcelona is once again grappling with financial challenges as they race against the clock to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor before La Liga’s December 31 deadline. If they fail to meet the deadline, both players will be ineligible to play for the rest of the season, adding to the club’s mounting pressure.

The Blaugrana are considering legal action, claiming that preventing the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor violates the players’ right to work. However, their main priority remains navigating La Liga’s strict salary cap regulations to ensure both players can officially be registered.

According to Sport, Barcelona needs to generate €60 million to align their salary cap with their wage bill. While the club has secured a new sponsorship deal with Nike, they still require additional revenue to close the gap.

One potential solution, as reported by Football Espana, is selling the rights to VIP seats at Camp Nou for the next 20 years. This deal could bring in anywhere between €100 million and €200 million.

However, La Liga’s financial regulations dictate that revenue from such long-term contracts must be spread out over the contract’s duration, limiting the immediate financial boost.

With the deadline fast approaching, Barcelona’s financial team is racing against time to secure the necessary funds and avoid complications in registering their players.
