A video circulating online has sparked outrage after showing uniformed Bayelsa State police officers assaulting a tricycle driver. The nearly four-minute clip, recorded on January 16 near a gated area, quickly drew public attention and condemnation over concerns of police brutality.
In response, Bayelsa Police Commissioner Iyamah Daniel Edebor condemned the actions on January 17, confirming that the officers involved have been arrested and will face disciplinary action in accordance with the Police Act.
