Nigerian music star Burna Boy has reportedly seen a significant drop in his total Spotify stream count, with figures suggesting a loss of approximately 309 million streams within two days.
According to circulating screenshots, Pop Smoke’s “Enjoy Yourself” remix, which features Burna Boy, reportedly declined by 182 million streams on February 11. The following day, Mabel’s “Finders Keepers” remix, also featuring the Grammy-winning artist, was said to have dropped by 127 million streams. Combined, the reductions total 309 million streams, slightly impacting his overall tally, which stood near 9.7 billion streams.
The development has sparked debate on social media. Some fans of rival artist Wizkid mocked the drop as alleged evidence of artificial streaming, while Burna Boy’s supporters attributed the changes to possible Spotify system glitches or routine adjustments involving older catalog features.
Streaming platforms such as Spotify are known to periodically remove illegitimate or suspicious streams as part of efforts to maintain data accuracy. However, Burna Boy’s major solo hits, including “Last Last,” appear unaffected, and his artist profile remains active.
