A businesswoman has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly stabbing her teenage salesgirl to death during an altercation.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Ibekwe Ezinne Mary, is accused of killing her 17-year-old sales assistant, Ihechidere Favour Uka. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
According to the family of the deceased, the dispute began after Ezinne allegedly sent Favour to retrieve an item from the shop. When the teenager returned later than expected, the suspect reportedly became angry and slapped her twice. Favour is said to have retaliated by slapping her employer once, after which the situation escalated.
The victim’s brother, Destiny Nnasco, who shared details of the incident on Facebook, alleged that Ezinne stabbed Favour in the chest with a kitchen knife, leading to severe bleeding and her eventual death. He also claimed that the suspect confessed to the act while in police custody.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
