A video circulating online shows a father covering his infant daughter’s face with a napkin to test her “survivor instinct.” In the 81-second clip, the man cheers as six-week-old baby Felicity struggles and eventually removes the napkin after about a minute.
The video has drawn swift criticism for endangering the child. Experts and child safety advocates highlighted the serious risks, including oxygen deprivation and Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI), as warned by organizations such as Red Nose and the CDC.
Critics emphasized that at six weeks, infants lack the physical strength to reliably clear their airways, condemning the act as reckless parenting motivated by social media attention rather than the child’s safety.
