Supporters of Galatasaray S.K. paid tribute to Victor Osimhen with a spectacular stadium tifo dedicated to the striker and his late mother.
The display featured flares, yellow-and-red mosaics, and Osimhen’s iconic No. 45 jersey. Fans reportedly rehearsed the choreography in advance as a show of appreciation for the Nigerian forward, who has quickly built a strong bond with the club since his move from SSC Napoli.
In a February 18 essay published in The Players’ Tribune, Osimhen opened up about losing his mother at the age of two or three. He recounted selling water and oranges on the streets of Lagos as a child before football transformed his life, leading to success at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, a historic Serie A title with Napoli, and now a new chapter in Turkey.
The tribute followed his standout performance in Galatasaray’s 5–2 UEFA Champions League playoff victory over Juventus F.C. on February 17, where his relentless pressing drew widespread praise. Fans have since described their admiration for Osimhen as unwavering and heartfelt.
