The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Jimmy Odukoya, has revealed that his distinctive dreadlocks are not just a personal style choice—but a divine instruction.
During a recent sermon, Pastor Jimmy shared how he specifically sought God’s guidance on his appearance before taking on full pastoral duties. In response, God gave him a clear message: “Do not cut your hair.”
To confirm the revelation, he asked his sister, Tolu Odukoya-Ijogun, to pray as well—and astonishingly, she received the exact same instruction, reinforcing his conviction.
But what came next took the story to a supernatural level.
“A lady came all the way from Zimbabwe just to attend our church. She said she had a vision back in 2016—long before I even grew my hair—where she saw a man with dreadlocks and a sword, speaking directly to her and destroying the weight she carried in life.”
According to the woman, that vision kept her grounded through a series of devastating events—divorce, loss, grief. She later stumbled upon Jimmy’s sermon on YouTube, and instantly recognized him as the man from her vision—down to the dreadlocks.
“If I had cut my hair, she wouldn’t have recognized me. God made me keep my hair to save a life.”
