Nigerian comedian Ekene Clinton Egbuna, popularly known as Klinton Cod, has sparked online reactions after sharing his views on marriage and relationships.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the comedian stated that marriage is a “huge trophy” for women, adding that women often need marriage more than men.
Klinton Cod advised women who desire marriage and family life to learn from their mothers about what it takes to be supportive and responsible partners.
He encouraged women to develop qualities such as loyalty, kindness, respect, practicality, and consideration in relationships.
The comedian also referenced what he described as a growing trend in countries such as the United States and Canada, where some women over the age of 35 reportedly choose to freeze their eggs due to concerns about finding long-term partners.
According to him, Nigerian women should learn from such trends and prepare themselves for marriage if they desire stable family life.
His comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users agreeing with his perspective while others criticized the remarks as controversial.
His post read:
“Alot of American/Canadian over 35 women are now freezing eggs due to fear of not finding life partners. Speak to most of them for three minutes and you will understand why men struggle to stay with them. This is where I see Nigerian women going in the next three to five years.
“As a woman looking forward to marriage and building a family, learn from your mother, be loyal, be practical, be kind, be respectful and overall be considerate. Na una need this marriage thing pass, no be men.”
