The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with MTN Nigeria, is redeveloping the Obalende under-bridge into a modern, well-structured transport hub known as Y’ELLO Bus Park.
This transformative project will reclaim a once-degraded and notorious space, converting it into a functional, secure, and community-focused facility designed to meet the needs of commuters and residents alike.
The new bus park will feature an organised and regulated transport terminal, a recycling drop-off station, a road camp for LAWMA sweepers and security agencies, over 60 public toilet fixtures, kiosks, and other essential amenities. Every element has been thoughtfully designed to promote efficiency, accessibility, and public convenience.
Safety, health, and aesthetics are central to the design. Solar-powered lighting will significantly improve night-time visibility, reduce blind spots, and enhance the effectiveness of CCTV surveillance, helping to deter criminal activity and strengthen security across the Obalende axis.
Sustainability is also a key focus of the project. A biodigester system will be deployed to responsibly manage wastewater generated within the park, while a dedicated recycling station will discourage illegal waste disposal and promote better environmental practices.
In line with Lagos State’s commitment to climate responsibility, solar panels will be installed to support long-term energy efficiency and reduce the project’s carbon footprint. Planned tree planting will further improve air quality and enhance the visual appeal of the area.
Y’ELLO Bus Park represents our collective resolve to reclaim public spaces, make them safe, functional, and sustainable, and ensure they serve Lagosians in a modern and responsible way.
Together, we are building a cleaner, safer, and more resilient Lagos.
