Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has responded to club legend Wayne Rooney, who labeled him “naive” for stating that United’s goal is to win the Premier League.
Following United’s FA Cup exit to Fulham, Amorim reaffirmed the club’s long-term ambition under Project21 to win the title by 2028. Rooney, working as a BBC pundit, criticized the statement, arguing that United should focus on improving their current position, as they sit 14th in the league.
In his reply, Amorim dismissed the notion that he was naive, emphasizing that winning the Premier League remains the club’s ultimate objective, even if it doesn’t happen under his tenure.
