Joseph Aloba, father of the late Mohbad, revealed that his life dramatically changed for the better after his son’s tragic death. In an interview with media personality Akin Abolade, Aloba credited the support he received from people, attributing it to the spirit of Mohbad and divine intervention.
He explained, “Even the car and everything I have now, it was people who gave them to me. It’s beyond ordinary. It is the spirit of Mohbad and God that led those people to give me all I have now.”
Aloba also spoke about the struggles Mohbad faced before his death, noting that his son’s plans were often thwarted. He alleged that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, and her family controlled much of the late singer’s property.
“They did a lot concerning that boy. All his landed property is in their possession. Even the land he bought for me to build a church— I forced him to buy it and mould the blocks, which were later used to bury him,” he said.
Aloba also shared that Mohbad had planned to buy him a house after completing his tour, with the purchase already paid for before his untimely passing.
Reflecting on his life journey, Aloba said Mohbad’s birth marked a turning point for him. He became a singer after money from Mohbad’s naming ceremony was stolen, with his late son serving as his backup singer from the age of one.
