The Nigeria Police Force has reportedly removed its spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi Hundeyin, from the position of Force Public Relations Officer after six months in office.
The development, reported on March 5, 2026, follows the swearing-in of Olatunji Rilwan Disu as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police the previous day. Hundeyin was appointed as the national spokesperson on September 4, 2025, and was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police in February 2026.
Although his removal was approved, authorities have yet to announce a successor or his next posting.
The development has generated mixed reactions online, with some praising his transparency and communication style, while others welcomed the leadership change. Such adjustments are common following the appointment of a new Inspector-General, as incoming leadership typically reorganises teams in line with operational priorities amid ongoing security challenges in the country.
