Nottingham Forest have confirmed the double capture of James McAtee from Manchester City and Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town in a combined £67.5 million ($92m) deal. Both players have signed five-year contracts, as Forest ramp up their preparations for the upcoming Europa League campaign. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo finally gets the reinforcements he’s been pushing for, strengthening his squad ahead of a pivotal season.
Nottingham Forest have secured the £37.5m signing of Omari Hutchinson, fending off competition from Brentford after seeing an initial bid rejected by Ipswich earlier this summer. James McAtee joins in a deal worth up to £30m, with the midfielder entering the final year of his contract at Manchester City. Both players were standout performers for England Under-21s during their European Championship victory this summer, notably combining for the winning goal in the final against Germany.
James McAtee:
“I’m excited for this new chapter in my career. Nottingham Forest had a strong season last year, and I’m eager to contribute to that momentum. I’m here to prove myself and help the team push forward. It’s a great feeling to be part of a club with such clear ambition, and I can’t wait to get started with my new teammates.”
Omari Hutchinson:
“I’m thrilled to join Forest and can’t wait to get going. I’ve played at the City Ground before, and the atmosphere has always been intense — now I’m looking forward to experiencing that energy with the fans on my side. This move marks a fresh challenge for me, and I’m fully committed to giving everything for the team. I feel ready for what lies ahead.”
