Cristiano Ronaldo has once again spoken out about the ongoing issues at Manchester United, insisting that the problems at Old Trafford go beyond the head coach.
During an on-stage interview at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Ronaldo reiterated his belief that the issues at the club aren’t solely about the coaching staff.
“I said this a year and a half ago, and I will continue to say it: the problem is not the coaches,” Ronaldo stated.
“It’s like an aquarium with a sick fish. If you take the fish out and fix the problem, but then put it back in, it will get sick again. This is the problem at Manchester United—it’s the same. The problem is not only the coach; it’s much bigger than that.”
Ronaldo’s Confidence in Amorim
While acknowledging the difficulties Ruben Amorim faces in the Premier League, Ronaldo expressed belief in his former Sporting manager’s ability to steer the club through its current struggles.
“He did a fantastic job in Portugal with my former club Sporting, but the Premier League is a different beast. It’s the most competitive league in the world,” Ronaldo continued.
“I knew it would be tough, and the storm will continue. But storms don’t last forever. The sun will rise.”
Ronaldo, who remains deeply connected to United, said he hopes for the best for the club despite their current turmoil.
“Things crossed, it will be good with him. I hope for the best for Manchester United because it is a club I still love.”
