At least three teachers and six pupils sustained serious injuries in a lone accident along Akala Expressway, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The incident occurred on the morning of Friday, February 28, 2025, when a vehicle transporting students from Zenith Group of Schools, Akeyo, Muslim area of Ibadan, for an excursion, suffered brake failure, overturned, and veered onto the other side of the road.
According to one of the pupils, the school owner was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Reports indicate that more than 20 students were on board, heading to the Railway Station in Omi, Ibadan, for the excursion.
Emergency responders, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), arrived at the scene, and the injured victims were rushed to a hospital for medical attention.
The remaining pupils were taken to Kuola Divisional Police Headquarters in Ibadan.
